Context

Small-business owners hear about AI constantly but rarely get a concrete answer to “where would it help me?”

The problem

Generic AI advice is hard to act on. Owners need ideas that match their business, tools and biggest time sink.

Objective

Build a lightweight guided tool that turns five simple answers into specific, honest starting points.

Role

Concept, content design and build by Orbit Hive.

Constraints

Must not overpromise. Results are labelled as exploratory. Rules-based for now, so outputs are predictable and explainable.

Approach

• Five plain-language steps: business, task, customer challenge, tools, desired outcome
• An idea library where each idea lists effort, data needed and questions to validate
• Results that suggest a small first conversation, not a big project

Technical notes

Deterministic scoring in the browser. The input and output shapes are designed so a language-model service can replace the rules later.

Outcome

No measured outcome to report. This is a internal prototype, not a client deployment. We only publish results we have actually measured.

What we learned

Showing “what it needs” and “check first” next to each idea makes the output feel trustworthy rather than salesy.
